Why do we need help?

We cant make such a big commitment and change on our own! Although Wycliffe comes with its own support structures we need our friends and families to stand by us as well. We need to gather a support team, people like you, who will commit to partner with us for the work we are going to do. Although you will not physically be at the project, we will not be able to go unless you help to support us. However, we do not want this to be a one way relationship but a real partnership. In return for your commitment to us, we will commit to you: to keep you up to date with our work, to let you know our successes and our struggles, to have you come and visit (if you want!) and to pray for you.

So, practically why we need…

  • People – because we need encouragement! Things will no doubt be hard at times, and we will need people to help us keep going – not to mention come and visit! Also, when we are back in the UK for further training etc. we may need a couch to sleep on!
  • Pounds – Wycliffe are a faith based organisation, which means they are supported by donations only. As a result they do not pay their members, therefore all our work is voluntary. For us, this means we need to raise every penny we will have to spend. We believe this is what we should be doing and we would love for you to be involved with us in it. Please take some time to think and pray about whether you can support us in this way and remember… no amount is too small!
  • Prayer – we believe that God hears our prayers and wants to help us all in everything we do. We also know there are some things that we’ll come across that we won’t know what to do with. We need your prayer for the work, the people and the situations we’ll find ourselves in. If for no other reason than that we can learn the language…!
