On the first few weeks.

So we've been training for 3 weeks now and we've finished one introductory course and started another. We're getting stuck into phonetics, being tested even(!), and trying to keep up with all the reading! Work has started in earnest! Next week we start putting our new skills into practice in a 'language practicum', learning a language completely new to us. We are both learning indigenous Malaysian languages: Liz 'Kelabit'', Matt 'Iranun'! They are both very different do English so its going to be an interesting challenge to use different language learning techniques! They are working us hard but we are having fun. We feel very fortunate to have made such good friends on the courses already.
