A time to recover

Last week, following the end of the language and culture course, was a week of orientation to Wycliffe UK. So… seminars about tax, National Insurance, Medical Insurance and other necessary evils! It was also a time to do some reflection on who we are and on how and why we react as we do in different circumstances. We used the Myers-Briggs personality types (to aid us in teamwork later on) so there have been many interesting discussions about communication and conflict resolution between types. Matt and I were able to lend out vast experience of relating with contrasting – almost opposite – character types! They can, and do, add richness to relationships we are glad to say!

It has been a slightly strange week of slowing down and adjusting to different people being around site again, however it has been fun having more time to chill out with friends. On Friday we had Jo and Tim Blundell Jones, our good friends from Sheffield, down to visit. It was great to catch up and to be able to show some friends a glimpse of our ‘new world’! If anyone else is passing by and wants to drop in please do… we like visitors!

This week also saw us go for a night walk… heading out to a Chiltern hill and watching the stars. Its kinda fun knowing that we’ll be able to see the stars in the same way, just much brighter, from the other side of the world in just a few months! Oh, talking of that, we got some more info about Tanzania and our plans to get there this week. More on that next time…

Sounds like a well-deserved break. Hope all is going well for you over there. Our Sunday School class will be praying for you both.
