Spreading the news, and having a snooze!

The last week of September gave us a week off before our next course started this Monday. We travelled down to Devon and had a fantastic time with Liz’s family, visiting all our favourite places including both the moors and the seaside (hence picture!). They had also moved house since we last visited so it was great to see their new house.

The trip also provided us with opportunities to visits some of our supporters in Exeter to explain more about Wycliffe’s vision and our plans. As always it was great to be able to share the vision, and our small part in it, with many different people. People’s reactions to the need for Bible translation, and within that literacy work, continues to remind us how much we take for granted what we have in England and the west. When we first heard the statistics we were surprised that not everyone in the world has the opportunity to learn to read and write in their own language, or to read God’s word in it! When you have opportunities that seem so basic to us, I guess like fresh water, you find it hard to believe that there are some people in the world who don’t have those same things! It is a privilege for us to be able to go around the UK and speak up for all those people who don’t have these things, to share their need with people who don’t know of it.

On that note, if anyone would like us to come to their group and/or church and talk about Wycliffe and what we are doing with them then please get in touch. We’d love to try and help.

A new course and course mates beckon...
