Videos and Maps

We have finally got round to uploading a few more videos (9 in total!) of our trip to Songea for the calendars and Matema for the lake! To see a video of the AMAZING cathedral at at Peremiho click here. If you would like to see the rest of the videos after watching this one, just click on the button 'More from user' in the top right of the video screen.

We've also put a 'rough' 'line' of our trip next week so you can try and picture a little better what we are doing where. We will be heading out for 4 days to meet with our literacy colleagues in 3 different areas, distributing next years calendars, and generally encouraging the workers in the villages. This should be a great chance to meet lots of people and see the areas before the rains start next month. To see the route go to our map here. Big thanks should be given to the GoogleMaps people who have also recently improved the quality (and accuracy) of the Mbeya town map... now you can see a bit better where we are!

Cool... great to see a bit of what you're doing! I remember we went to a similar huge cathedral in Haubi village in the Rangi area, again built by the Germans and looking completely out of place!

Good to see the maps too - it always makes me laugh how all the maps have the same mistakes - places spelled wrong ("Mlowas" instead of "Mlowo"), key places missed out (Mbozi Mission in the centre of the Nyiha area) and even imaginary places inserted ("Mbozi" on the road between Vwawa and Mlowo). We sent our corrections to one of the map makers after surveying the Nyiha area - I don't know if they ever used them or not...
