February was a busy month! We began the month by changing
house, moving from our temporary base in Devon to a more permanent home (for a
year anyway!) in Thame, Oxon. We have relocated to be closer to the Wycliffe
Centre where Matt will be based for his next assignment. This assignment will
be made up of a number of parts, the two main ones involving some teaching on the
masters courses taught at the centre and helping resource literacy work in
Asia. The latter will be as part of a group called ‘LEAD Asia’ (Language,
Education and Development), working with communities to help them build the
skills they need to engage with development opportunities, and to become better
advocates for themselves. Matt will be UK based and trying to make the most of
that by forging links with partners and other interested parties. This assignment is still with Wycliffe and so we will continue to raise our own financial and prayer support as we did in Tanzania.
The new role is now possible because, at the end of
February, Matt submitted his MA dissertation. He will have to wait until June
to hear whether he passed and with what grade, but it was still a significant
event. Other than these location and work changes Liz has been getting used to
a changing son, including dealing with his first cold! Liz and Levi have also been
to different baby groups around the town and are gradually getting to know
people.
While many things have changed over the last few weeks, some
things sadly remain the same. Liz continues to struggle with Chronic Fatigue
and recently has been feeling much worse again. This obviously makes caring for
Levi challenging and puts strains on us all. Please continue to join with us in
prayer for her complete healing. Thanks.
